In the aftermath of Nepal’s devastating earthquake in 2015, Dochaa was born from both loss and hope. The disaster not only claimed thousands of lives and destroyed homes but also deeply affected local artisans and communities, placing Nepal’s already fading cultural heritage at even greater risk. As traditional crafts and indigenous textiles began disappearing, a simple yet powerful idea emerged—to preserve these stories before they were lost forever.
Inspired by this purpose, Dochaa was founded to revive Nepal’s rich traditions through contemporary fashion. By combining locally woven fabrics, indigenous craftsmanship, and modern design, every product celebrates the culture, identity, and artistry of the communities that have preserved these traditions for generations. The name “DOCHAA” comes from one of the earliest handmade shoes crafted by the indigenous people of Nepal’s Indo-Tibetan belt, reflecting the brand’s deep connection to heritage. What began as a response to tragedy has grown into a mission to keep Nepal’s cultural legacy alive for future generations.
Founded in 2017 by a group of passionate dreamers, Dochaa is committed to creating products that meet global quality standards while remaining proudly made in Nepal. By blending tradition with contemporary design, the brand creates timeless footwear and accessories that people can wear every day. Every collection is refined through customer feedback, allowing Dochaa to continuously improve while staying true to its roots.
Today, Dochaa continues to bridge the gap between Nepal’s traditions and today’s generation. By bringing traditional textiles and the stories behind them into everyday life, the brand hopes to inspire young Nepalis to reconnect with their cultural identity. Based in Nepal, Dochaa is growing alongside a community of conscious customers who believe that every purchase can help preserve craftsmanship, empower local artisans, and carry Nepal’s heritage forward—one step at a time.
Dochaa connects with today’s youth, honoring artisans, promoting local fabrics, and telling the stories behind them. We are deeply committed to our creations, our customers, and the communities we cherish.

Dochaa is an ambitious initiative aiming to bridge the gulf between Nepal’s treasured traditions and today’s fast paced modern world with its locally crafted and ethically made creations. We create wearable art that stems from the stories woven in our past. We have crafted the perfect fusion between unnoticed art and modern designs reflected in well-crafted shoes and accessories in our attempt to create products for people who appreciate Nepali culture.

Embracing individuality within our communities, Dochaa believes in each individual’s authenticity on their path towards becoming their best version. We invite people to embrace their identities and respect the ability of others to do the same. We reflect our values in creating our products that each carry the authentic self of the cultures and artisans behind it.
We value the authenticity of culture and indigeneity, reflected in the craftsmanship of our creations.
Dochaa recognizes that a community’s culture is deep-rooted in its people’s identity, and the infringement on our ability to carry forth our culture into our future erases the stories from our past. We believe in the empowerment of the communities across Nepal and utilize our platform to amplify those who have been made unable to recite their own narrative.
We aim to empower people and amplify the narratives of communities whose stories remain unheard.

Dochaa’s dynamic energy is well reflected in the growth it has achieved over the years; with the company initially limited to a small room at one of the co-founder’s houses, it has now managed to transcend into much more than a brand of shoe. Dochaa is all about the stories of culture, identities, uniqueness, art, and respect for our artisans.
We are enterprising with every creation. A blend of tradition, art, and modernity to help one embody their identity.
Dochaa is more than footwear. Every pair celebrates Nepali craftsmanship, supports local artisans, and keeps our cultural heritage alive for future generations.
